Papa's everywhere when the annual Hemingway Days festivities roll around – and it's not because organizers hang up posters and stage events all over Key West honoring the literary legend. No, the true culprit is the riotous Hemingway Look-Alike Contest held at the writer's favorite Duval Street watering hole, Sloppy Joe's. Hemingway's legacy, both as a writer and as an adventurer, is celebrated in other ways during this July event, including a mock "running of the bulls," readings, an arm wrestling contest, and a marlin fishing tourney. Papa'd been proud! |
